How to create UniSat wallet
Welcome to UniSat Wallet! Follow the steps below to create your wallet and get started.
1. Download UniSat Wallet
Visit here to download UniSat Wallet. After installation, start creating your wallet.

2. Create or Import a Wallet
Click Create New Wallet to set up a new wallet.
If you already have a wallet, click I already have a wallet to import your wallet using your recovery phrase.
You can also click Connect to Hardware Wallet to link your hardware wallet. Currently, Keystone hardware wallets are supported (more options will be added in the future).

3. Set a Login Password
This password is used to unlock your UniSat Wallet. As a decentralized wallet, UniSat does not store your password and cannot help recover it if lost. Keep it safe.
Password Tips:
Use a combination of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
Avoid personal information or common words.
Do not reuse passwords from other accounts—set a unique password for UniSat Wallet.

4. Backup Your Recovery Phrase
Your recovery phrase (seed phrase) is your key to accessing your wallet. If anyone obtains your recovery phrase, they can control your assets. Losing or exposing it can lead to permanent asset loss.
Important Security Reminders:
NEVER screenshot, copy, or photograph your seed phrase.
Do not let anyone watch you create your wallet.
Avoid storing your seed phrase in cloud storage, emails, SMS, or any connected devices.
Never share your seed phrase through communication tools.
Do not store your seed phrase in one place or entrust it to others.
Keeping your seed phrase on internet-connected devices poses significant risks.

5. Complete Wallet Creation
At this stage, you will see four wallet address types. All four types of wallet addresses support receiving, sending, and storing BTC, Ordinals, Runes, and Alkanes assets.
The most commonly used types are Native SegWit (bc1q) and Taproot (bc1p). You can choose based on your needs.

UniSat Wallet supports 4 Bitcoin address formats and allows switching between them in the settings.
Custom HdPath (Optional)
The Custom HdPath defines how your wallet's hierarchical deterministic (HD) structure generates addresses. Different paths produce different wallet addresses.
Example: m/84'/0'/0'/0/0
→ Native SegWit (bc1q addresses)
m
: Master key84'
: Purpose—BIP84 (Native SegWit)0'
: Coin type—Bitcoin Mainnet (0 for Bitcoin Mainnet, 1 for Testnet)0'
: Account: Account 0 (you can have multiple accounts)0
: Address Type: 0 = External (receiving) address, 1 = Internal (change) address0
: Address index (first generated address)
Note: If you use a custom HdPath or other wallet tools with different paths, you must enter the exact same path during recovery to restore the same wallet address.
Phrase (Optional)
The Phrase is an optional additional password for enhanced security. It is NOT the same as the login password set in Step 3.Entering a different Phrase during wallet recovery generates valid wallets, but with different addresses. If you set a Phrase, make sure to remember it—it's required for wallet recovery.
Final Reminders: Decentralization = Full Responsibility
Using a decentralized wallet means you fully control your assets—and are responsible for your own security.
Please remember:
UniSat never stores your recovery phrase or private keys. Back them up securely. Losing them means losing your assets permanently.
Set a strong wallet password and keep it safe. UniSat cannot help recover forgotten passwords.
Only download UniSat Wallet from the official website to avoid fraud or phishing.
