Before introducing PizzaSwap, it’s essential to understand its roots in brc-20 Swap on Bitcoin Mainnet. As a cornerstone of UniSat’s efforts to push the adoption of brc-20 protocol, we developed the brc-20 Swap alpha on Bitcoin mainnet in November 2023.
Even though the swap on Bitcoin was not able to fully open due to circumstances beyond our control, we’re not giving up. What we learnt from the process paved the way for PizzaSwap- a mirror of the brc-20 swap module on Bitcoin deployed on Fractal Bitcoin- an extension of Bitcoin that is immensely similar to Bitcoin itself.
We’re committed to continuously enhancing the PizzaSwap experience for our users, keeping it secure, efficient, and user-friendly. This timeline traces the journey of brc-20 Swap and PizzaSwap, culminating in our vision for 2025.
2023: Pioneering brc-20 Swap
UniSat launched brc-20 Swap on Bitcoin Mainnet in 2023 after extensive testing throughout 2022-2023.
Significant effort and innovation went into ensuring this product functioned correctly on Bitcoin’s mainnet, laying the groundwork for decentralized swaps.

2024: Standardizing with L1F
Throughout 2024, we worked closely with L1F to integrate brc-20 Swap into the brc-20 standard upgrade. Due to the need for cross-team coordination, the process took longer than expected, but we remained committed to ensuring a smooth and secure implementation.
2025: Upcoming major protocol upgrades
We continue to work closely with all stakeholders to push forward the brc-20 update, which will introduce three key modules:

PizzaSwap, the first dual-network brc-20 DEX for Bitcoin and Fractal, officially launched on Fractal on September 30, 2024. This swap product, identical in functionality to the mainnet swap module, is the first DEX to be built on both Bitcoin and Fractal.
The launch of PizzaSwap on Fractal is also helping to further drive the development of Swap on the Bitcoin mainnet.

September 2, 2024: Public Testing
Public testing of PizzaSwap on Fractal Testnet began to ensure stability and security for the mainnet launch.
September 30, 2024: Official Launch
PizzaSwap officially launched on Fractal Bitcoin, allowing users to seamlessly swap brc-20 assets on Fractal with ease.
First DEX built concurrently on Bitcoin and Fractal, supporting all asset types.
Features: Direct swaps, liquidity provision with rewards, and a user-friendly transaction interface.
October 2, 2024: Introduced Simple Bridge and Green Channel.
Simple Bridge enabled smooth asset bridging between Bitcoin and Fractal.
Green Channel allowed brc-20 Swap assets from Bitcoin Mainnet to transfer to PizzaSwap.
From September 30 to October 2024, we’ve continuously worked on improving PizzaSwap’s UI, trading experience, and other features:
New Features:
November 2024: Opened PizzaSwap to all brc-20 tickers on Fractal, allowing any trading pair creation.
December 2024: Improved real-time LP earnings display for staking and trading fees.
LPfest is a long-term initiative primarily focused on bringing rewards to liquidity providers.
November 2024: LPfest Epoch 1 launched.
LPfest Epoch 1: Introduced sFB <> sBTC, sFB <> sSATS, sFB <> Glizzy pairs with 6,000 FB rewards.
December 2024: Launched LPfest Epoch 2 and enhanced LP earnings visualization.
Epoch 2: Added 5 pairs (sBTC <> sFB, sSATS <> sFB, etc.) with 10,000 FB rewards.
Improved real-time LP earnings display for staking and trading fees.
April 2025: LPfest Epoch 3 launched.
Introduced 5 trading pair with 10,000 FB in rewards
May 2025: LPfest Epoch 3.1 live with 2 trading pairs with 2,000 FB in rewards.
January 2025: Testing PizzaSwap 1.1
The first test version of PizzaSwap 1.1 was launched and tested with a small group of users. We gathered valuable user feedback and conducted research to further improve the product.
February 2025: PizzaSwap 1.1 launched

SUSD•SUSD•SUSD, an over-collateralized synthetic stablecoin on Bitcoin developed by Shell Finance based on the Runes Protocol.
April - May 2025, PizzaSwap LPfest Epoch 3 & 3.1 launched
NEW languages - English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Traditional Chinese
May 3: PizzaSwap’s Address Search Feature launched.
