# brc-20 Swap and InSwap Development Before introducing InSwap, it’s essential to understand its roots in brc-20 Swap on Bitcoin Mainnet. As a cornerstone of UniSat’s efforts to push the adoption of brc-20 protocol, we developed the brc-20 Swap alpha on Bitcoin mainnet in November 2023. Even though the swap on Bitcoin was not able to fully open due to circumstances beyond our control, we’re not giving up. What we learnt from the process paved the way for InSwap - a mirror of the brc-20 swap module on Bitcoin deployed on Fractal Bitcoin- an extension of Bitcoin that is immensely similar to Bitcoin itself. We’re committed to continuously enhancing the InSwap experience for our users, keeping it secure, efficient, and user-friendly.
